Call of Abstract

Much debate still persists regarding the extent of the oceanicmicrobial diversity including all three domains of life: Eukarya, Bacteria and Archaea. How many species are there? How are they distributed in the marine ecosystems? How many new species are there? etc.. This event will attempts to give an overview of the present knowledge in relation to these questions. The ‘Marine Microbiome workshop” is a unique event in Morocco and the region which aims not only introducing colleagues to the field on marine metagenomics but also to be an opportunity for PhD students and researchers already engaged in Microbiome research to share and discuss their results and challenges. Marine Metagenomics is the way into the unknown microorganisms livingin our waters to see what treasures might contain the vast microbiome beneath. The ‘Marine Microbiome: Metagenomics for Biodiversity” is inviting all to take part in an original workshopnever been attempted before in the country and the region where the latest discoveries from the academic world can be shared with representatives from politics that will come together to discuss the problems and solutions for the effective transfer of novel research discoveries in the field of marine biodiversity. The workshop will discuss various aspects of the hidden treasures in the marine microbiome, and how to discover them.

Topics include but not only the following:

  • Marine microbiome
  • Marine Metagenomics
  • Marine Microbial diversity
  • Microbial biodiversity
  • Marine Microbial ecology
  • Marine microorganisms
  • Marine viruses,
  • Marine microbial resources
  • Legal aspects in Marine microbiome
  • Marine Microbial Biotechnology
  • Microbial Bioinformatics
  • Microbial Genomics
